A signed release build, served straight from us while the Play Store listing finishes review. Takes about 60 seconds end-to-end. Works on Android 7 and newer.
Open this page on your Android phone (scan the QR with your Camera app, or email yourself the link). Then tap the Download APK button above.
Pull down your notification shade. You'll see Chrome's “Download complete” notification for mistos-financial-release.apk — tap it.
Or open Files → Downloads and tap the APK there.
The first time, Android asks: “For your security, your phone isn't allowed to install unknown apps from this source.”
Tap Settings → flip the toggle Allow from this source ON → tap the back arrow.
You may see “Unsafe app blocked”. This appears for any sideloaded app — Google only auto-trusts apps installed through the Play Store, even when they're signed and identical to the listing.
Tap More details → Install anyway → Install.
The app icon lands on your home screen. Tap it and sign in with the same email/password you use on the web.
Your accounts, budgets, transactions, goals, and Misto's notes are already waiting — no re-link needed.
On older Android versions the setting lives under Settings → Security → Install unknown apps. Pick the browser/file manager you downloaded the APK with and flip the toggle. Then re-tap the APK in your Downloads folder.
Tap More details on the warning, then Install anyway. If you don't see that option, open Play Store → Profile → Play Protect → Settings and temporarily disable “Scan apps with Play Protect.” Re-enable it after installing.
Long-press the Misto's icon → App info → Uninstall. Or pull it out of the App Drawer. Your account and data stay safe on the server — nothing is stored only on-device.
Coming soon. iOS sideloading is heavily restricted, so we’re working toward an App Store TestFlight build. In the meantime the web app works beautifully on Safari — Share → Add to Home Screen gets you 95% of the way to a native feel.
Yes — the APK is signed with our production release key (the same one we’ll use to publish on the Play Store) and the network layer is identical to the web app (HTTPS, bank-level encryption, read-only Plaid). Source: we built it. That said, only install APKs from places you trust; this URL is the only official source.
