Savings Goals

Savings Goals give the things you're dreaming about a place to grow, with gentle encouragement the whole way.

How-To Guides

How to plant a new savings goal

Naming a goal is the first, most hopeful step toward reaching it.

  1. On the Goals page, click Add Goal.
  2. Enter a Name, like "New laptop" or "Emergency fund."
  3. Enter your Target amount.
  4. If you've already saved something, add a starting amount under Current (it starts at 0 otherwise).
  5. Optionally set a Deadline and pick a color.
  6. Click Plant. Your goal appears with its own progress ring, ready to grow.

How to add money to a goal

Watching a goal climb is one of the best feelings — and it only takes a moment.

  1. On the Goals page, find your goal card and click the pencil icon to open Edit goal.
  2. Change the Current amount to your new saved total.
  3. Click Update. The progress ring fills to match right away.

Good to know: There's no separate "add contribution" button. You add money to a goal by editing it and raising its Current value — that's the one and only way, and it keeps things simple.

How to edit a goal

Plans grow and change, and your goals can keep up.

  1. On the goal card, click the pencil icon to open Edit goal.
  2. Update the Name, Target, Deadline, or color.
  3. Click Update to save.

How to delete a goal

If a goal no longer fits your life, you can let it go.

  1. On the goal card, click the trash icon.
  2. Confirm at Delete goal?. The goal is removed. (Changed your mind? Just cancel and nothing happens.)

Frequently Asked Questions

"How do I add money to a goal?"

This one surprises people, so it's worth saying clearly: there's no separate "add contribution" button. Instead, click the pencil icon on your goal to open Edit goal, raise the Current amount to your new saved total, and click Update. The ring and progress fill in to match. The same trick works in reverse — if you ever need to lower the amount, just edit Current down.

"What do the milestones on my goal mean?"

Milestones are Misto's way of cheering you on. As you cross 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% funded, a badge appears along with a warm little line — "A quarter of the way. Small steps count.", "Halfway there…", "Three quarters…", and finally "Reached. Hold this for a moment." The ring and bar politely stop at 100%, even if you save past your target, so a goal always looks beautifully complete.

"What happens when I finish a goal?"

You get a proper celebration. At 100%, the card earns a gold ring and a "Harvested" ribbon, and shortly after, gold-and-sage confetti drifts across the screen with a toast ("🌾 [goal] — harvested. you crossed the finish line…"). The confetti and toast play just once per goal, so if you reopen the page later you'll still see the lovely ribbon without the fanfare repeating.

"Do I have to set a deadline for a goal?"

Not at all. Only a Name and a Target are required — the Deadline and starting Current amount are both optional. Save at whatever pace feels right, with or without a date on the calendar.
